Summer rowing is almost here!
The Milton High spring crew season may be over, but there's plenty of rowing this summer! Check out these opportunities for adult and youth rowing:
Summer Youth Rowing
We're running two sessions for incoming 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. Learn to row or build your skills to be ready to row with the NRC in the fall. We'll work on stroke fundamentals and rowing knowledge in a team atmosphere, rowing sweep in stable 4s and 8s. Rowers will work on gaining a greater understanding of the rowing stroke, experience a multitude of drills, and gain a firm grasp of rowing terminology while getting a workout.
July session: 8-10 am, Monday - Friday, July 11 – July 29 REGISTER NOW
August session: 8-10 am, Monday - Friday, August 8 – August 26 REGISTER NOW
Adult learn to row
This introductory sweep rowing class will get you our on the Neponset River learning the basics in no time. It’s perfect for people of all fitness levels, no rowing experience necessary! Row in a stable 8-person or 4-person boat and get familiar with rowing terminology and technique fundamentals while learning to row in a fun group environment.
July session: 5-7 pm, Monday - Friday, July 18– July 22 REGISTER NOW
Adult summer rowing
Sweep rowing in stable 8-person or 4-person shells, for rowers with a variety of experience levels who enjoy a team atmosphere. This program will build on stroke fundamentals and knowledge of rowing to become more confident, efficient rowers. This class will focus on synchronization, timing, drills, and blade work. The coaches will work with all rowers throughout the session to offer drills/workouts and grow rowing knowledge and skills. Rowers will work on gaining a greater understanding of the rowing stroke, experience a multitude of drills, and gain a firm grasp of rowing terminology while getting a workout.
